Screening and Recovery Process

The decision to donate is a momentous one; often it comes at the most difficult time.

IIAM stands ready to make donation for medical research as simple as possible.

Once the decision is made, either revealed through a donor registry or made by the donor family, it is our collective commitment to fulfill their wishes.

We all know the statistics too well: greater than 100,000 men, women and children in America wait for a lifesaving organ; 20 people die each day waiting for a suitable organ.

For those who work in the field of organ and tissue donation, these numbers are frustrating. Added to that frustration is the challenge of how to carry out a donor’s wish to have all his or her organs help others through placement.

IIAM has over 200 research studies awaiting non-transplantable organs to support their important work. Each research protocol differs depending on the organ and the needs of the researcher. For more information, call IIAM at 800-486-IIAM.

Recovery Workshops

IIAM hosts bi-annual Recovery Workshops to provide educational training for OPO specialists on proper procedures regarding recovery for research tissues. Please contact IIAM for more information.
