This session demonstrates the recovery of all organs in the chest and abdomen and several tissues (female reproductive tissue, breast tissue, skin, skeletal muscle, thyroid, bladder) for surgical skill development and the successful recovery of research organs and tissues. You will have the opportunity to ask questions of our surgical instructors during the recoveries. This session is geared towards surgical recovery technicians and perfusionists.
IIAM is pleased to provide an in-person research recovery workshop for the first time since 2020. This training is geared towards experienced surgical/perfusion staff with a minimum of 1 year of surgical technician, tissue recovery technician, or perfusionist experience. The workshop includes whole body donors and fetal pig labs for surgical skill development. Surgical landmarks and dissection techniques for the recovery of research organs and tissues will be covered in this hands-on training.
IIAM will host its 30th Research Recovery Workshop March 29-30, 2023. The event will be held at Gift of Life Michigan. If you are interested in attending a future Workshop, please contact Mike Vara.
